Comedy is any story told where a person or group of people go through a series of adversities & failure only to arrive at a great reversal of fortune & success. Comedies usually involve humility & humor. Humility & humor are the key characteristics of comedy because they reflect the soul’s best way of handling existential & spiritual dissonance. Because of the fallen world, fallen Devil, and fallen man, God promises to reverse, to judge and restore all things His way. When God’s Transforming Reversals of Fortune take place the Devil will be banished to hell, there will be a new world, and man will be redeemed. God accomplishes this Restoration by giving us now His Upside Down Kingdom, presently embodied in the Church of Christ. God the Great Comedian creates in us a U-shaped arc of spiritual growth thru adversity.
